PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
Think you have a photographic eye for doll pictures? Send us your photos and let the public decide. The Doll Affair will select 10 of the best photos submitted, and these will be displayed at the event. Our visitors will then cast a vote for their favourite photo, and the winner stands to win a special prize! If you’ve always dreamt of holding an exhibition for your doll photos, this could be your chance!
The deadline for submission is Dec 14, 2008.
HOW TO TAKE PART
- Participants have to submit a photo of BJD(s) in digital format to the organisers at thedollaffair@gmail.com. Scanned slides or photographs are allowed.

- Participants have to submit all entries before 2359hrs, Dec 14, 2008.
- Following the closing date, judges will choose 10 finalists to be displayed at the event on Dec 27, 2008. Selected participants will be contacted and required to make 8R prints of their winning photographs. There will then be an audience voting session to determine the final winner.
- Participants are reminded to retain a copy of their photo in high-resolution digital format to facilitate the printing process should they be a finalist.
RULES
- The photo submitted must be taken between Nov 14 to Dec 14, 2008. Participants who submit images that were shot earlier, or shot by proxies, will be disqualified.
- Selected finalists are to be present at 1300hrs on Dec 27, 2008 at Suntec Meeting Rooms 325-326 (Level 3) to turn in their photographic prints.
- All photographs will be judged on the following key criteria:
· Creativity
· Use of colours and light/shadows
· Composition of photograph
- Images that have been digitally enhanced or manipulated are allowed as long as the reality of the image is not distorted. However, images that have been digitally altered to a large extent may be disqualified at the discretion of the Organising Committee.
- Each participant is limited to 3 entries.
- There is no entry fee.
- This is an open interpretation competition, there is no set theme.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The Doll Affair retains the right to publish any submitted photo in our online gallery, in electronic and printed promotional material for The Doll Affair as well as exhibition spaces such as future doll shows and in those cases there will be no payment for the use of the copyright. We will not sell or give away the rights to use your photographs to any third party without seeking prior consent.
- Dolls entered in the contest must be consistent with the acknowledged style of Ball Jointed Dolls; dolls must be made of resin, articulated with ball-and-socket type joints, customisable and strung. Entry dolls may be of any size.
- Fashion dolls such as Barbies, Licca/Jenny, Blythe/Pullip and figure kits are not allowed to enter the competition. Dolls found to be unsuitable may be disqualified at The Doll Affair’s discretion.
- Entrants are reminded that The Doll Affair is a family event. All lewd, provocative or otherwise questionable entries to the competition will be disqualified. The Doll Affair retains the sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content.
- The Doll Affair assumes no responsibility for entries unable to be processed due to technical fault.
- The Doll Affair reserves the right to cancel the contest if it becomes technically corrupted due to vote fixing or otherwise . In the event of such cancellation, The Doll Affair will proceed to award the prize to an eligible, non-suspect entry received prior to cancellation.
- The winning selection will be announced at the conclusion of the event on Dec 27, 2008 and posted online after the close of the voting period.
- Anyone who does not agree with the above terms and conditions should not enter this contest.

Lucky Draw Winners 2007
Our visitors took part in our lucky draw, where they stood to win our Grand Prize - a D1 Flexi Perennial "Venturo", courtesy of Domuya. We had prizes for 6 other lucky attendees which included doll outfits from Honig Doll and a "Lief" head thanks to Valse Du Ciel with a faceup by tangledweb.
